At Aluminum Associates we typically have between 25 and 30 staff members and many of our employees have been with the company for over 10 years. We take pride in our family atmosphere – one that allows team members to get to know one another so that we can work in a collaborative environment, working together for a common goal.

Our staff are divided among four departments – Sales, Installation, Warehouse and Administration. See below for a description of the important role that each team plays in the continuing success of the company.

Sales

Installed Sales Representatives visit customers in their homes to provide free estimates for installed products. They have extensive product knowledge and exceptional customer service skills, always presenting a professional image. They are able to sift through a large amount of pricing information, and accurately measure and complete estimates on-site.

Inside Sales Representatives serve the needs of customers who call or visit our showroom, including contractors and do-it-yourselfers. These individuals are adept at helping customers find the right product for their application, and are eager help customers find the right solution to their exterior renovation problems. They have a wealth of product and pricing information at their fingertips and can calculate material requirements from customer-provided measurements and drawings. Attention to detail, the ability to distinguish between colours, and keyboarding skills are essential for these Inside Sales Reps.

Installation

Our installation teams work year-round to provide professional installation of the quality products that are sold at Aluminum Associates. They are skilled trades people who take pride in their work and enjoy the sense of accomplishment they get when customers are completely satisfied with the finished product. The ability to solve problems and to contribute in a team environment are critical to individuals in these positions.

Using specially outfitted cube vans, our installation teams travel to job sites that are primarily within London and surrounding area. Crews typically work from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. They don’t have to drive long hours to get to jobs sites – we understand the importance of being home in time to spend quality time with family and friends.

Our window and door crews install replacement and retrofit windows, entry systems, patio doors, storm doors, storm windows and porch enclosures. They also add decorative elements such as shutters, columns and railings.

The siding crews install both vinyl and aluminum siding, in both vertical and horizontal styles, primarily on renovation projects.

Our eavestrough crews install vinyl and aluminum soffit, aluminum fascia, 5” and 6” seamless aluminum eavestrough, and gutter guards.

There are many opportunities for cross training and advancement within the installation team. Lead hands demonstrate a breadth of installation skills and leadership qualities.

Being completely comfortable working from heights and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, as well as manual dexterity are important skills for all Aluminum Associates installers. A G-class driving license and a good driving record are also required.

Warehouse

Our warehouse staff are responsible for ensuring that the hundreds of products stored in our well-stocked warehouse are readily available for pickup or delivery. They have the important task of ordering all product, receiving orders, ensuring that the quality of all products meets our high standards, and then securely storing these items in our warehouse.

Fabrication is also an important role of the warehouse team members as they frequently fabricate seamless eavestrough or complete custom bending orders using a metal brake. They also have the skills to manufacture custom aluminum shutters and re-screen window or patio door screens.

Warehouse staff regularly pull orders for cash and carry customers, or deliver product to their job-sites, often fabricating seamless eavestrough on-site, too.

Manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish between colours and to lift up to 100 lbs. are essential skills for all warehouse staff. Team members who do deliveries or pickup product from our suppliers also require a valid G license, a good driving record, and have the ability to drive a large cube van. Of course, customer service skills are also extremely important.

Administration

Our administration team staff manage a large number of electronic and paper documents each day. They perform accounting, payroll, benefits, order processing, and human resources functions as well as manage records and inventory.

Of course, for the company to be competitive, the administration team must effectively manage all purchasing, inventory, pricing, and billing-related matters, as well.

Administrative staff require attention to detail, excellent organizational and keyboarding skills, and proficiency using a number of software applications.
